What are the benefits of the Ramp?

The Ramp provides a gentle staircase for your cat to enter and exit the Litter-Robot III Open Airwhile reducing litter tracking. Most cats hop onto the Step and into the Globe without any problem. For small cats or elderly cats, however, the Ramp makes the Litter-Robot III Open Air more accessible and easier to use.

The Ramp also helps reduce litter tracking by catching it on the way out. Instead of your cat's first step being onto your floor, it is now on the Ramp, which has a textured surface to help remove litter from your cat's paws. The raised lip around the perimeter of the Ramp catches tracked-out litter, so all you have to do is vacuum or wipe it up.

Lastly, the Ramp has rubber feet that help it grip smooth floors, giving your cat a stable walkway.

How big is the Ramp?

The Ramp does require extra floor space. The room you need to add the Ramp, including the Robot, is 98cm plus a 0.05 to 1cm gap added to the back for clearance. If you want to set up the Robot, Ramp and Litter-capture Mat, the room needed is 145cm plus clearance. Ramp is 55cm wide.

Is the Ramp difficult to install?

No, the Ramp is simple to install and does not require any tools. Simply remove the black rubber Step Mat on your Litter-Robot III Open Air to reveal a recessed mount for the Ramp. Place the narrow end of the Ramp on the Step, then place the Step Mat in the recess of the Ramp.

When the Ramp is installed, how do I access the Waste Drawer?

To access the Waste Drawer, just lift the Ramp off the Step and set it aside. Access the Waste Drawer like normal, then replace the Ramp on the Step.

Some insight from experience

A few things the ramp does:

  • helps capture litter of paws descending from litterbox heaven (;o)
  • provides cats a gentle entry and exit
  • gives cats a platform to stand on and view inside the Robot without having to jump in
  • gives waiting cats a place to sit/stand if the Robot is occupied
  • stops the Robot being pushed backwards when a cat jumps out (equal and opposite force effect)

A litter capture mat at the end of the ramp completes the litter anti-tracking system, to help minimise cleaning.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I'm considering buying the gate to help with spillage, as my cat is spreading litter everywhere when he jumps out :( If I buy just one item, do you guys have expensive shipping?)

For the litter scatter, I have tried the fence and the ramp. I found theramp really effective as my boy used to leap out (in joy Im sure) and traillitter like a comet tail. The ramp encourages a stately waltz down the stepswhich are angled to catch litter from paws, before getting to ground. A mat atthe end of the ramp completes capture in most cases, and certainly improvestracking hugely.  Shadow is a digger, not a flicker. If your kitties are flickers, then afence is helpful. PS accessory price includes shipping with Australia Post Australia wide ;o)

My cats like the ramp. It’s made well and worth the extra cost.

Perfect fit

Looks great, built well and snaps into place perfectly. Has made getting in and out of the robot so much easier for my elderly boy.

A must have !!!

When I first got the litter robot my two wouldn't go near it. It was too high for them to explore easily so I used a little step stool to give them better access. It worked !! I ordered the proper steps when they became available and am so glad I did. It makes it much easier for them to enter and exit the robot. Definitely get the steps if you buy the robot.

I absolutely love the stairs. I think it was the best advice you gave me to get them. It’s great for tracking, but also great as my boys are still cautious climbing in and I don’t think they would want to climb up into it without the stairs. Big BSH are not the most agile...mind you they shoot out of it like a cannon ????

Lily has found the staircase not only makes a grand entrance to her new Litter Robot Connect it has made her life easier as she has arthritis and the steps make an easier entrance and exit....highly recommended for not so young cats.........thankyou Mary for recommending them......
