Trap unpleasant odors and keep the Litter-Robot III Open Air waste drawer fresh with replacement Carbon Filters.

  • (3) Carbon Filters
  • Compatible with Litter-Robot III Open Air

How often should I change the Carbon Filter?

For optimal odour absorption, we recommend changing the carbon filter every three months, if you have the recommended 2-3 cats per Robot. However,  replacement frequency is up to you and your cats usage patterns. If using scented litter,  the filter will need changing more often as it will also absorb the litter scent. Unscented litter is recommended. Frequency of changing the filter is dependent on number of cats, and litter being used, with carbon or activated charcoal helpful for additional odour control.

Note:The carbon filter is not necessary for the unit to function.

Q&A
Hi,

I need to order some of these carbon filters - do you know when you will have them back in stock?
( Heidi Harron, 05/05/2020 )

Dear Heidi, apologies for delay as the question did not pop up for me. We have new stock coming asap, but due to supply disruptions, we are anticipating July for arrival. In the interim, you can clean water gentle rinse your filter, and sun dry. Sniff test to see if there is odour. If there is you would normally order your next lot. Due to the delay, you have a few options. You can semiseal the filter by using foil to wrap it and lessen the odour that escapes the base. If you are using litter with carbon it it, such as our Premium Clay Clumping Litter, the carbon will help odour in globe and tray. If you have access to a wood fire, you can put charcoal in the tray, between liner and filter, as a temporary (messy) measure. We also have Litter-Robot spray cleaner that can be spritzed onto the filter to assist with odour. Apologies for being out of stock but we are working to restock asap!

Hi
Can the carbon filter be rinsed out in warm water and reused at least once? I saw a video that showed a full clean of the Litter Robot and it showed it could be.
( Elise Gillies, 17/02/2020 )

yes, you can gently rinse the filter with clean water (no detergent) and sun dry. A sniff test will tell you if there is still odour when dry, and that's when you need to consider replacing.
