The Litter-Robot Open Air Fence is an accessory that fastens onto the bottom of the Globe entrance. It promotes your cats full entry into the Globe and acts as a barrier to contain kicked-up litter. It can also provide additional protection to the entry area.
Prevents messes
Easy to clean
Simple to install - no tools required
Installation instruction .
A little insight from experience
The fence does a few things:
helps keep litter in the globe if you have diggers and scratchers
helps secure the front entry if your cats pull the liner edge loose from the entry lip
helps protect the front entry if you have heavy footed or long clawed cats (ie BSH)
encourages long tailed cats to enter fully and turn around, rather than leaving the tails out, as it makes the position less comfortable
can help protect the entry area if your cats 'phantom' scratch, damaging the liner (depends on where they scratch)
stops nibblers from chewing the front entry lip
may help cats who deposit too close to the front entry, to move further into the globe

I have had my litter robot almost a year now and originally purchased the gate to assist the litter staying in if they chose to dig a tunnel, also to help catch anything if they sat a little close to the opening. But I’ve actually realised how amazing it is to protect the globe from wear and tear. My cats climb cautiously in, but launch out like a torpedo, so claw marks are clearly starting to show on the fence but the globe is fully protected. It also helps in the same way when they dig at the opening instead of the actual litter to cover their deposits. So now I realise how valuable it is to protect the globe.

The gate is working great, we have a cat that ‘sometimes uses the box otherwise the floor’ but when he does use the box he sprays litter everywhere this has seem to stop him now ????

We are two Birman cats and we LOVE our Litter Robot (affectionately known as "poo bot"). We also love vigorously covering our waste so as a result we sometimes either kick the litter so high that it comes flying out of the Litter Robot or we try and use the rubber surround at the opening to cover it up. We started damaging the rubber surround with our claws so our humans intervened and bought us this Open Air Fence. It is really awesome. It stops the flying litter problem and also encourages us to use the litter for waste cover up, rather than the rubber part around the opening.
We are all very happy, and we love our Litter Robot more than ever!
