Upgrade your Litter-Robot 3 Open Air to Connect! This do-it-yourself upgrade kit adds WiFi connectivity to your existing Litter-Robot 3, so you can use the app to remotely monitor and control your Litter-Robot. Connect is compatible with Apple mobile devices with iOS 9.0 or greater and Android mobile devices 6.0 or greater.

Installation Requirements

You will have to unscrew the control panel cover, unplug wire connectors from the circuit board, replace the circuit board and reconnect it, reattach the control panel cover, reassemble the unit, replace the applique around the control panel, affix the new serial number sticker, test your installation, and calibrate the cat sensor. NOTE there is no power supply included in the Kit.


If you want to upgrade your Litter-Robot 3, but do not wish to do the installation yourself, you can purchase a new Base with Connect or the Litter-Robot 3 Connect.


Please note, if your unit is still under warranty, installing the upgrade kit does not change or void your 18-Month Full Warranty or Extended Warranty.

  • Hi there, I have had your cat robot for about three years and I absolutely love it And can not recommend it enough to peopleBut the last couple of months I have noticed it has not been working to its full capacity And now my robot will not cycle at all There is a blue light flashing If I press cycle it eraticly flashes yellow I have tried to do the hard reset as well as follow every you tube video I'm wondering if the internal parts need replacing with this upgrade kit Or is there something else I can try

    Hi Meeghan, great to hear you have been enjoying the automatic lifestyle, but sorry you have an issue. The blue flashing light and fast flashing yellow on push of RESET button is indicative of the DFI sensor and possibly pinch detectors having an issue. Easy upgrade

Fantastic upgrade to the best product we've ever bought for our fur kids. The instruction video was simple to follow and the made the upgrade take around 15min. Easily paired with my phone and the internet. Puuurfect.

Upgrade was reasonably simple for me, although it's long and involved enough I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't enjoy that type of activity. The instructions and video are perfect.

App setup was actually one of the easiest I have setup before. (But my router has both enabled at once and I typically put all "smart" devices on 2.4ghz and reserve the 5ghz for mobile, so just prepared / avoided any issues).

My cats are not yet 1 year, so they jumped in immediately and it was just a matter of reducing the frequency of cleaning their old litter box to convince them to stop using it as a sandpit and properly transition them (the older litter smell no doubt helped).

Received my Litter Robot along with a WiFi Connect kit. I opened the kit up to find a set of well documented and photographed instructions - it looked daunting, but actually it was very easy to follow, and in short order i was switching the power on, scanning the QR code and connecting to the litter Robot. It's been a week now and both my cats have taken to using the Litter Robot exclusively, they actually love watching it cycle, they watch it intently. I love not having to scoop every day, and the stats I'm getting from the mobile client are great, including alerts when it's time to empty the drawer. The support from the sales team has been great, the guides they give you before even shipping and the follow up afterwards is like customer service you don't often experience. Definitely 6 star experience and product as far as I'm concerned!

Finally got around to installing these in both my litter robots today.
Very simple process, no issues with either (probably the hardest part was getting the connectors onto the pinch clips)
Setting up with the app was also very easy.
Possibly could have saved myself some money by just replacing the pinch clips, as they appear to be the most likely cause of the fault I was getting (flashing blue light after every cycle, and requiring reset), but I'm glad for the upgrade as the notifications should help me to empty the bins before they're overfilled (I have 6 cats, and this happens quickly!)
I will let you know if I have any issues, but so far so good????

The litter robot is doing well. Two of my three cats were scared of it at first, but they all seem to be using it now. Also I received the wifi upgrade kit and have installed it without any worries.
