So it has been a month since the LR (R2-Dpoo) landed on our doorstep. I was worried as my little guy had not used any different litter than non clumping crystals since I rescued him almost 2 yrs ago. He was interested at first then loved having clean litter to play in (like when he was a kitten) and he almost took to it for pee almost immediately then I had to go away over night so instead of leaving the two litters I left his old litter (next to LR to be soiled) and the LR off but with litter in it. When I returned he had done his first poop in the LR - which I couldn't even praise him for because he could have done it the day before for all I know. Anyway the old litter just became a confusion for him to know where to go and he was using the LR with no problem and running in to see what it did when it cycled. He no longer runs in every time it is cycling but on occasion I see him check it out. Absolutely no issues with it and I am using so little litter now compared to what we used to go through. Love it and it keeps my Castiel happy and with a fresh litter 24/7 365 no matter what happens with my schedule.
PHOTO SUPPLIED Guido was miffed because it was his first time in the robot on day one!! Although he always looks miffed anyhow!! He didn't quite know what had happened to his old kitty litter tray.I didn't turn the robot on for a few days for him to get used to it before it started cycling. He loves watching it cycle and tries to hit the clump with his paws! He adapted very well considering I changed his litter to yours and took away his old litter tray over one weekend. Once he was given no choice, he had to use the robot. He still jumps out at a fast pace, distributing litter over the floor!!
I purchased the Litter Robot in hopes that it would ease the litter duties of my 3 rescued kitties, and at first though there was hesitation i thought it was going to work. Unfortunately, we got close to the 90 day trial and it was clear that their personal choices was that of their previous litter and position. I contacted Mary and she was the standard of customer service that one hopes for, very accommodating and understanding, and helpful in the returns process. Refund was given after arrival back at their warehouse. I wish my cats had taken to it, but that i could get a refund is what made this great product stand out.
I didn't have time lately to tell you how happy we are with our magic box.Life is so much easier! When we come home from work we can actually relax and not think about litter boxes.I think that was the best spent money in whole last year. Thanks for all your help!
We have a 5 cat household.
I think 2 or 3 are using the robot which is great!
Our older Russian blue, Loulou is quite a big cat and does not seem interested in using the robot. We have issues with Loulou as she will only use the litter box to wee in and not to do her other business
she prefers to do that somewhere else in the house, like under a window…. grrr… But that is another story… I am hoping she will at least use the litter robot to wee in eventually.
I still need to keep one of my hooded trays for Loulou and our elderly Birman, Bailey who is not interested in using the robot at all.
At 18 I am not really expecting him to use the robot anyway…
In any case I have noticed a huge difference in my cleaning routine with the litter robot. I still wipe the inside of the globe with a disinfecting towelette and empty the tray every day.
Instead of spending 20 minutes or longer, I only spend about 5 minutes on cleaning the litter robot and the old litter tray.
So much better!
